Etisalat drags ADX down Wednesday
The ADX’s trading volume increased to 83.6 million shares

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index shed 0.85% or 36.48 points to 4,273.71 points on Wednesday.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock Etisalat lost 1.23%.

The banking sector went down 1.02% after Invest Bank, Union National Bank (UNB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), and First Abu Dhabi bank (FAB) fell 2.8%, 2.53%, 2.21% and 0.98%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector levelled up 0.3% after Eshraq Properties soared 4.17%.

Undoubtedly, the geopolitical situation would weigh down on the ADX in the coming period, hence fluctuation may be noticed, vice president of Investment Research at KAMCO Raed Diab told Mubasher.

The ADX’s trading volume increased to 83.6 million shares from 59.1 million shares on Tuesday, while the market’s liquidity shrank to AED 136.3 million through 1,102 transactions, compared to AED 186.5 million on the previous session.

Eshraq Properties’ stock was the most active in trading, with 25.6 million shares, while Etisalat’s stock topped the ADX in terms of liquidity, with a turnover of AED 29.9 million through 152 transactions.
